Stephen Kern, AIA/ Director

With over 40 years of experience, Stephen has served as Vice President and Principal Architect, contributing to a wide range of projects spanning varying scales and complexities. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated comprehensive expertise across all phases of project development—from conceptual design through construction administration—with a particular focus on the technical development and implementation of advanced façades, the integration of innovative engineering systems with cutting-edge architectural design, materials research, construction documentation, and project management. 

His extensive experience encompasses multiple building types, with a strong emphasis on the planning, coordination, detailed design, and construction of architecturally significant high-rises, corporate headquarters, and convention centers. Currently, Stephen serves as the technical leader on projects located in Chicago, Illinois, as well as Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany. He also contributes his expertise as a member of the Dean’s Board of Advisors at the Tulane School of Architecture.
