Stephen Kern, AIA/ Director

Stephen has been an Architect with JAHN (formerly Murphy/Jahn), for 36 years holding the position of Vice President, Principal Architect. Over the period of his tenure with JAHN, he has participated in numerous projects of varying scale and complexity and has extensive experience in all phases of project development from Conceptual Design to Construction Administration, with particular emphasis in the technical development and implementation of advanced facades, integration of innovative engineering systems and principles with advanced architectural designs, materials research, production of Construction Documents and Project Management.

His experience covers several building types and uses with extensive emphasis on the planning, coordination, detailed design and subsequent construction on a number of architecturally prominent high rises, corporate headquarters, and convention centers. Currently he is participating as the technical leader on projects in Chicago, Illinois, Berlin and Frankfurt Germany, and is a member of the Tulane School of Architecture Dean’s Board of Advisors.
