Award-winning EDEN Tower boldly fuses nature and architecture, with more than 2,000 square meters of living walls climbing its 98-meter façade. Recognized with CTBUH’s Best Tall Building Under 100 Meters Award, the 29-story residential tower introduces a new generation of sustainable high-rise living to Frankfurt’s city center. Jahn and Sempergreen, which developed the green wall technology, will present the project at the 2025 International Conference in Toronto.

Germany’s first residential tower to fully integrate vertical gardens, EDEN transforms the skyline while reimagining how urban residents connect with nature. Located near Frankfurt’s central business district and major transit hubs, the building aligns with the city’s vision for greener, more livable urban environments. A setback creates a welcoming public plaza, while a private landscaped courtyard offers residents additional green space above the parking structure. With limited on-site parking and excellent transit access—including a new subway line at its doorstep—the tower actively promotes sustainable mobility.

The project’s design philosophy, “vertical garden living,” makes the tower an urban biotope. Lush green walls separate private balconies, giving every resident an outdoor space framed by vegetation—even 75 meters above ground. To achieve this, the team developed a high-performance façade system with integrated irrigation, nutrient delivery, and drainage, anchored by a non-combustible, NASA-developed fabric that secures more than 186,000 plants to the structure.

Designed with post-COVID lifestyles in mind, EDEN Tower prioritizes wellness, natural ventilation, and flexible live-work spaces. Its living façade improves air quality, reduces glare and heat gain, and provides a natural acoustic buffer, creating healthier homes in the heart of the city.

For residents, EDEN offers a sustainable, wellness-focused lifestyle. For Frankfurt, it strengthens the city’s reputation as a forward-looking financial hub committed to sustainable growth. With its bold integration of technology, ecology, and design, EDEN Tower sets a new benchmark for residential high-rises in Europe. In addition to CTBUH recognition, the project has earned the FIABCI Germany Prix d’Excellence Award, an International Architecture Award Honorable Mention, and was shortlisted for THE PLAN Awards.
