Jahn is honored to announce that the Pritzker Military Archives Center in Somers, Wisconsin, has been recognized with a Divine Detail Award at AIA Chicago’s Designight 2024. This prestigious recognition celebrates the translation of architectural theory into artistic expression, emphasizing the interplay between design and craftsmanship. The award honors projects where meticulous details elevate the design concept, showcasing innovation in craftsmanship, technology, or material choices.
“Chicago’s architects are leaving an indelible mark on the global landscape, crafting projects that foster equity and sustainability,” said AIA Chicago’s Executive Director, Jen Masengarb. “We remain steadfast in supporting architects as they strive to create buildings that contribute to a better quality of life for all.”

In addition to the Divine Detail Award, Jahn was also awarded AIA Chicago’s Design Excellence Award in the Architecture Large category for One Freedom Plaza, located in Washington, D.C. The project features a simple yet refined aesthetic, which masks a complex set of high-performance systems, including operable windows and intelligent window shades. These systems work together to achieve maximum efficiency and optimal comfort for office workers inside, flooding interior spaces with natural light.
